Downloadrare is another pet project of mine that collects links of movies and tv shows around the internet and aggregates them in one place for download.

Downloadrare is yet another pet project I did early 2014. It gathers links( both torrent and direct) from around the internet and aggregates them in a single place. I used a couple of APIs to accomplish these

• The Movie Database API to collect information about movies
• YTS API to fetch magnetic and torrent file links of movies
• OMDB API to get the imdb rating of movies

Other notable technologies also utilized include

• Redis which I am using as a cache store. I use it to cache API calls data.
• Sidekiq gem for background processing
• Whenever gem to manage cron jobs
• Soulmate gem for fast autocomplete

The frontend features a bootstrap theme. Other frontend technologies include jquery and ajax
